When I was first made aware of the work One In A Million did, it immediately resonated with me, as most of my paintings depict a nostalgic look of children playing in the streets.

Of what to some, may seem rosier times

The original artwork, was auctioned along with other items at the charity’s main fundraising event at Bradford Grammar School on Saturday, October 22.

One in a Million is a Bradford based Charity committed to improving the lives of children and young people, helping them break through barriers of deprivation and inequality and to achieve their full potential.

In 2005, they began delivering football projects to a handful of young people from the Canterbury estate. Today, they provide a variety of safe, fun and positive environments reaching hundreds of children and young people across Bradford. Many of these children live in some of the most deprived areas in the UK.

Their aim? To support some of the most vulnerable children and young people in gaining educational qualifications and social skills for life. They help each child and young person understand that every one of them is valuable, that they have something to offer and they are all ‘One in a Million.’
